Where
to go to get tested for STDs
To get an STD checkup,
you can go to your doctor or you can go to one of the clinics listed below.
- STD checkups might
be free - if you qualify for Family PACT Program
(the green card).
- If you are 12 years
of age or older, you can get an STD exam without your parents' permission.
- If you are nervous
about using your health insurance for sexual health services, talk to
the clinic staff about your concerns.
- Ask for a urine
test - it's painless. (But it only tests for 2 STDs. So you
might need a different test to check for other STDs)
- Many clinics offer
drop-in services without an appointment.
- Several clinics
offer evening and weekend hours.
